Cathy Adams, travel editor

Hello! I’m a travel journalist, editor and editorial consultant based in London, currently working as head of travel for The Independent (and formerly the Evening Standard).

Before that, I lived in Hong Kong, working as deputy editor of Cathay Pacific’s Discovery magazine.

I’ve written for publications including Lonely Planet, Travel + Leisure, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, National Geographic Traveller (UK), CNN, Escapism, The Guardian, TheWeek.co.uk and Square Mile. I’ve also worked with a number of inflight and hotel magazines for brands including Etihad, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, Turkish Airlines and Mandarin Oriental.

Other commercial work with airlines, hotels, financial services companies and tourist boards.

I’m occasionally a talking head and travel commentator on radio and TV shows including LBC and Channel 5.
